IN A NUTSHELL
#Sweatforthegoodstuff is a yoga community created by Lovesweats that empowers individuals and businesses to find that balance of giving back to the world in a way that is sustainable & affordable for them! Aside from having lots of fun, connecting amazing people and businesses; and creating an innovative and sustainable way to give back, our goal is to help solve two key problems.
- 1 -
The issue of social isolation in Australia and the causes and effects associated with it (such as mental illness, physical wellbeing, disadvantage, addiction).
- 2 -
The challenges that new yoga teachers face such as getting paid experience, building confidence in their teaching ability and becoming comfortable marketing themselves...sound familiar?
We can do this by building a community of regular & affordable yoga classes taught by #sweatforthegoodstuff teachers hosted at local businesses. We match teachers and local business that are a good fit (location, availability etc) and facilitate getting the classes up and running. This includes providing access to booking and payment platforms, marketing material and assistance with logistics.
Each month we choose a different charity and use profits from the sessions to support the work they do tackling social isolation. This could be anything from housing support for homeless youths to mental health programs for schools. To date, we have supported organisations like The Wayside Chapel, Vinnies, Rough Threads, The Yoga Foundation and Batyr.
