A Snapshot of St Vincent De Paul Society

VInnies helps to rebuild and restore lives. Each year Vinnies helps over 1.3 million people WHO ARe EXPERIENCING social isolation and disadvantage.

With more than 40,000 volunteers throughout Australia, Vinnies is in a unique position of being on the ground to provide a hand up to those in need. This help can be enough to stop a bad situation from becoming worse or provide the support to break the cycle of poverty and disadvantage. With support from the community, last year Vinnies provided over 360,000 bed nights to the homeless, 1,197,633 meals and assistance on 1,161,239 occasions.

Homelessness and the care of people who are homeless is a primary concern for the organisation. Vinnies focusses on providing support and raising funding for people experiencing homelessness, inappropriate housing, and physical and mental abuse. Nationally, they run over 200 programs and services designed to help those who are socially excluded and marginalised. One of these services is the Ozanam Learning Centre (OLC), an early intervention centre that supports people who are at imminent risk of homelessness or those who require social inclusion options to prevent them from falling into cycles. The OLC is focussed on producing sustainable pathways that provide people with skills, confidence, and opportunities. The aim is to break the cycle of homelessness by supporting people to achieve their personal goals using a person-centred and strength based approach.

LOVESWEATS & VINNIES

In collaboration with Vinnies, we want to help break the cycle of homelessness and disadvantage through services and advocacy for social injustice. Lovesweats helps to bring yoga to their community at the Ozanam Learning Centre.

We believe that by teaming yoga with the other comprehensive support services and programs that Vinnies delivers, we can help to have a big impact on the lives of people experiencing social isolation and disadvantage.

This is why we believe it's so important to support the services that Vinnies and other organisations in the sector deliver to these communities. We want to do this by donating 20% of the class fee from our team classes to support these organisations and the programs that they run.

WANT TO DO MORE THAN YOGA WHEN YOU'RE DOING YOGA?

Sign your team up for a Lovesweats yoga class and select Vinnies as the partner charity to which you would like 20% of the class fee to go.
